    1. No it isn't. A lot of white people go to observe cannibal tribes (who have a darker/tan skin color).

  2. Absolutely, you are correct. Valentines reflect the time and attitudes of that time that they were created in. Some are very astounding that *anyone* could think they would make a good subject for an expression of love and affection - such as the valentines with lynching themes. Our Black Americana page collects some more of these cards (although we do not have any of the lynching valentine theme cards - those are quite the collector's item these days due to their shocking nature and so very hard to come by).
